CMS Consumer Research and Communications (CRC) IDIQ Contract

Period of Performance:  September 1, 2010 to August 31, 2012
(with five additional one-year option periods)

L&M currently holds one of six indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contracts with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to conduct qualitative and quantitative research to support the implementation and assessment of CMS communication efforts.

L&M has been awarded two CRC task order contracts:
 

• "Research to Support Medicare Communication Campaigns." The contract, which includes seven qualitative and two survey research studies, will assist CMS in advancing existing communication efforts and developing new initiatives.
• "Consumer Research Enhancing Web-based Tools on Health Insurance Exchange Portals." The contract includes an environmental scan, focus groups with potential exchange users, a survey of potential users, consumer testing of wireframes, and usability testing of Web tool prototypes. The results of the research will inform a comprehensive recommendations report to assist the states in developing the Web tools for the Exchanges.
